Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of task-oriented mirror therapy on mental function and participation of unilateral neglect in subacute stroke patients.

Methods: From March to May in 2019, a total of five patients received mirror therapy at the C General Hospital in Cheongju city, five times a week for 30 minutes for each therapy during the 4 weeks therapy. This study was conducted as a single group pre-post experimental design. In order to identify changes in their unilateral neglect symptoms before and after intervention, we performed Star Cancellation Test (SCT), Line Bisection Test (LBT) and Picture Scanning Test (PST). The Korean version of the Catherine Bergego Scale (K-CBS) and the Korean Version of the Modified Barthel Index (K-MBI) were used to measure changes in daily living performance after the intervention. The results were classified into the Mental Function Area and the Activity and Participation Area, respectively, based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health(ICF).

Result: Base on the nonparametric Wilcoxon signed rank test, the results showed significant improvement (p <.05) in the mental function areas (SCT and LBT) after the intervention, and Activity and Participation areas (PST, K-CBS and K-MBI) showed significant improvement (p <.05).

Conclusion: Conclusion: Mirror therapy improved the mental function, and activity and participation of subacute stroke patients.
